I so agree with you, I won't even bother with the new patterns if I don't have to, I'm sure glad I kept all my old ones even as far back as the 1960's. Guess we should suggest that they be looked for in yards sales. I can give you a good example, I recently joined a Cloth doll club, well last year and I copied off the basic pattern that was suggested and the maker hadn't added seam allowances, well how was I to know that, what a disaster, I stitched up the doll and she looks like a Twig! That is what new pattern creators would do, I'm glad I learned when it was taught in schools and by my Grandma! Hugs to you, MarilouAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17175847527595328447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-941264983391833932.post-229205025957060792011-02-08T16:45:57.127-08:002011-02-08T16:45:57.127-08:00I'm follower #55. I hope you'll follow me too for more mutual blog visits :)

Btw, do you want to meet excellent bloggers and gain more blog followers in the process? Then come on and join my "Swap Followings" Linky Party. This is an excellent opportunity for every blogger to meet other bloggers, follow them, and be followed in return. How does this work? Just simply "swap your following" which goes like this, "I follow your blog so please follow mine." All you have to do is create a post about the party, include the party button, follow 2 or more bloggers then leave them comments so they can follow you back.

The party is now open so if you think this is a match for your interests (and I hope it is), then join us at http://www.homemakeronadime.com/2011/02/swap-followings-linky-party-020711.html

Bring your best virtual smile, be prepared to meet great bloggers, and see you there! :)SJ @ Homemaker On A Dimehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01560592451904644918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-941264983391833932.post-58390908079068829742011-02-08T14:35:24.964-08:002011-02-08T14:35:24.964-08:00You are so right, Nonie. If I need some instruction I will go to my Sandra Betzina books or the Vogue sewing book.Bunnyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03672695141031447916noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-941264983391833932.post-52871417982677499212011-02-08T14:08:16.909-08:002011-02-08T14:08:16.909-08:00Yeah, I pretty much ignore the instructions that c...Yeah, I pretty much ignore the instructions that come with patterns. Luckily, I learned to sew from some excellent seamstresses and teachers! I would love to teach beginners too.Juliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10097054119585201394noreply@blogger.com
