Second Year anniversary

I love a summer sky and could spend hours just
gazing up and watching the different formations.  As the Dr. reminded me at my appointment June 10th, I had met my 2 year date of being diagnosed with cancer.  Today, not a sign of it! So there will be more summer skies.
Looking back now, the one thing I think I would have changed would have been to write about what I was going through.  One of the reason is, I lost a year.  The whole year of active treatment is gone, probably God's way of protecting me.  The second reason,     is to better help those going through treatment.  We have a friend that has just been diagnosed with cancer  and I am trying my best to calm her fears.  I think, it would have been better if she could have gone back and read about my treatment.

Today, I met my new primary care Dr. as my oncologist Dr. Smith felt it was time to move a little out of the nest. When you have active cancer they do not like sharing you with anyone.  My new Dr. is Dr. Lynn, who by the way studied under Dr. Smith, so I should be in good hands.  The visit went well, I really like Dr. Lynn a lot.
Since there was really nothing for her to do, since this was a meet and greet visit, she decided to freeze off a wart!  Gave her something to do, which was good.

I hope to share more, and if there are any questions or anything I can help you with please let me know.

I Know, but it's summer!

I know I should be in the sewing studio.  I have so many things I want to learn, practice, or just plain finish!

I just can not bring myself to stay in and gaze out the window at the sunshine.  Gazing out the window is something you do in winter while you watch the snow fall.

We do spend a lot of time enjoying our time on the river, so I wanted to share this spot with you.  No boats allowed!  This is call Porters pond and is a bird sanctuary. We love our wild birds.  To enjoy the river's in this area, we also know you have to take care of the wild life.

New Year Resolution

I know you think I am really mixed up and you would be right I am a scatter brain type.
This New Year Resolution has to do with my taking the time to really learn my embroidery machine.  I have not used it all that much since I got it.
My thought process and remember I am a bit scatter brained--is to commit right here on blog land that I am going to learn this machine!!

My friends that really know how to put their machines through the paces have been so good to me and have helped me so much.  I do think I owe it to them to get with the program and make this machine work for it's keep.

So post one, we will see where I am in embroider land a year from now.

Super secret

Everything I am working on right now is a secret!!   So, I am going to splash around on the river, I can share that.  Not a secret that grannie's gone "boatin"  The stuff in the sewing room is all top secret though.

Some of it is so secret, that I don't even know what I am doing.

My courageous Friend

I am going to call her courageous.  I have wanted to share this amazing lady for a long time but I could just not think of the right words. Maybe that should say I had to many words to describe her, kind, thoughtful, generous are just a few.

That all changed this last week when this courageous lady wrote a blog post, stating what many of us in the sewing world have known for a long time but never spoke of and that is:  There are some very bad examples of sewing floating around in blog land.
Not just bad examples showing an oops (something we all do) but using these examples as teaching tools.
The attitude seems to be it's ok to do it wrong as long as you are doing it!!  That is pretty sad because I am sure some of those coming across these blogs, really do want to learn to perfect their skills and make items they are proud of.
What better way to learn then for someone to help you by showing you what not to do.
For writing this post Bunny came under a personal attack.  There was never a whisper in Bunny's post to say one personal word about anyone.
Not being in control of their fingers these people went on to attack her friends.  I am one of those friends so I take it personally. Note to the person hiding behind the name ice cream--I am not a lifeless sewing buddy.  I am a full of life sewing buddy. Ice cream you crack me up how funny.
