OTTO FIX

I just love these guys.  Otto, my Great Grandson just makes it all worth it.
Otto seemed to be pretty pleased.
I would say that is pretty close to a smile. Kind of hard to smile very much when your getting new teeth.

OK, maybe this quilting thing will work out ok.

Note Books for Everything

With the computer we can now copy off what we need want at a touch of a button. I am a long time paper collector, but used a file cabinet and file folders for my stash.
Now, with just a push of a button, paper rolls off the printer, piling up on the floor, the desk top and every tiny spot paper will fit.
Since I love, love to sew, most of what I collect are patterns. Known as E-Patterns.
My solution has been note books.
I print off the pattern twice, so I have one to keep and one to cut out and use. No tracing for me if I can prevent it.

This is the notebook for my machine embroidery. I use the print out's for marking a placement. Again, extra copies are made and stored in a notebook.
Yet another notebook with samples of stabilizers and instructions for using those stabilizers.
The notebooks are then put on a bookcase. I have a lot of different notebooks and they do make things easier for me since I tend to dabble in so many different projects.

PARADISE

I am so blessed to be able to live in paradise.  We have had a very mild winter this year in the valley. While still getting snow in the mountains.  When the snow melts, it will fill our rivers and water our crops.
McGlinn, gets the most wonderful pictures, I am sure he will not mind if I borrow some.

This is taken at our favorite boat launch.

A promise of a wonderful sunny day.
Did you notice the ducks?

Look at the green on the hills.  Spring is on it's way.  Our hills always show the seasons, white in winter, green in spring and brown all summer.

Drifting on the river has to be the most peaceful place in this wonderful paradise.

Time Flies

I have not been very loyal about blogging. Maybe it's daylight saving time but I have not been able to 'save' one minute.
Still working on the quilt project.  Hope that one will be done this coming week.
since we are speaking of time.  I thought I would look back at my Granddaughters favorite smocked dress. This dress is very popular when I take it to smocking groups. They love the idea that yes! you can smock for an older girl.

Yes, she climbs trees in dresses!!

HELLO!! Can you see me?

Sometime the problem with being short is, I am not sure if anyone can see me.
I know they have good stuff cooking in there and they would be glad to let me in to sample 'stuff', if they only knew I was here.

I will dance, they always seem to like my dancing. Good treats come to those that dance.

I think this has been a very good
                   day.

The Table

On the property was a very large tree.
The tree had to
be removed to make room for the home to be built.
Then it was cut into lumber, always with the thought it would be used.

Finally getting some time off of work, Rod was able to craft this table.  Then the drying process started and the table sat for a very, very long time drying. No dry kiles around here.

A few months ago the time came to finish the table.   We have alread spent many wonderful hours around the table.  I know, over the years there will be many more.

Here I am

Lost in the sewing room. A friend I met on line just happens to be a quilterHer name is Linda and she must be the most patient person because I just keep messing up.
This is where I am on Otto's quiltI have since added a small boarder. The next assignment is to do pinwheels, so I have started on those today.

Sometimes I have even just sat down and cried over this quilt stuff.  I know, it sounds silly to me but I also know there will be more tears.
All the time I was sewing for the grands, I was saving scraps with the thought of someday making them quilts from the scraps.  Seemed like a pretty easy goal to me.  I had no clue about points matching and for the word perfect to be used so much.   For sewing squares and cutting those squares in half and on and on we go, sewing, cutting, re-sewing more cutting.
Tomorrow, more cutting, sewing and cutting--
