Home work done on the mystery quilt, now we wait for our next clue.
So, back to the smocked hangers. Lexie suggested we could also use fat quarters and since I had some I thought were fun fabrics, that is what I used.
I thought this was such fun fabric and you know it will go back together in a strange way. I was so curious as to how it would look pleated.
Here it is! This will go to another member if she wants it.
It looks fun to me, We will see, sometimes you just have to play around.
The next piece that was pleated, I didn't get a picture of because I was to busy talking to Louise. Guess you can see that one later.
This is the one, I have been smocking. I want to stay one step ahead of the class.
There is red in the fabric, but the red thread just seems to want to take over. Again, I will just have to keep playing around to see where this one ends up.
It is proving to be a fun, relaxing project.
Oh, by the way I did go the to quilt shop today. Now, there is another story that's needs to be told, or maybe not.

Just a peek
This is my first mystery quilt sew along. I never even heard the word mystery quilt until our quilt shop sent out an email inviting us to their first mystery quilt project. I decided it would be a great way to continue to learn about quilting. Also, when they said the quilt could be made as a quilt of Valor, I thought about my granddaughter and the lonely nights she goes through waiting for her hubby. Soon he will be shipped over sea's again.
So, here will be a quilt, to hold her. I hope it will be a gift from grandma, that say's we love you.
Here is a peek at where I am right now. I have no clue as to how it will come together, many more clues to come before we are at that point.

A quilt along-or so I hope
When this fabric came into our quilt shop I got so excited. I just fell in love with it and thought of the new grand babies (all boy's).
In my excitement I shared the quilt shops post on face book. Well, my friend Heather spotted the fabric and also knew right off it would be perfect for her grandson.
We decided to do a quilt along with Heather (a long time quilter) leading the way. We just have one small problem we are trying to over come. Heather lives in Australia the quilt shop is in the United States. Wenatchee to be exact.
So Heather is in the process of buying her fabric. While we wait I will work on my mystery quilt. I would love to share it with you but, it is a mystery.
The truck fabric--isn't it cute?

Betty is better!
YA!! The last I heard from Betty's daughter is that Betty was up, sitting in a chair. It also sounded like Betty was in a good mood. I was really scared when I heard she had pneumonia but it sounds like they have that under control.
Can you tell? I love this lady.
Modeling the dress she made from fabric sent to her from another forum member. The object of the game is to send someone fabric from your stash, that you have no idea of what to do with the fabric. We call it ugly fabric. Betty did a wonderful, fun dress.

I am still here
Still here in paradise. I thought I was done going through changes and at a certain age you could just put everything on cruise control.
Guess, that would not even be fun or interesting now would it. So, I am picking myself up and going forward.
I have a very dear friend Betty, who is in the hospital with a hole in her lung. She can't come home until the hole heals up. This time I am so worried about her, she has been sick before and I have always had a peaceful feeling, knowing she was going to be alright. This time seems different,so I hope you can say a few prayers for her. Life is so fragile.
